Friends of Spirit Health (FOSH)

FOSH (the voice of the members) consists of a team of members from the health club who meet a few times per year to see what they can do to improve our health club. This enables the members to have their say, discussing issues and changes that could benefit the club. These members are also key figures in the organising, planning and implementing of the social events we run at the club such as our famous summer BBQ!

Testimonials

"I've been a member of the Spirit Health Club since June 2011. That's nearly 8 years ago at the time of writing this. It's something I look forward to as part of my weekly routines and guess what, I feel fitter and more energised than I did before I joined. It's a cosy-sized gym but the equipment more than suit my fitness needs. And a big bonus has been the swimming pool. It has been Gym, swim or both each time I've come in, ideal. Staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming (in case you were thinking it, I'm not being paid to write this). The regular emailed newsletter to members keep us up to date with staff & club news & is a nice touch. Promotes a good sense of "family" and belonging. The club members rub along well together too. There's no production-line, fitness factory feel to this club. It ticks most of the boxes and suits me. My membership fee has been steady over the years and I don't end up in traffic jams getting to and from the club." Martin Phillips

"Lynda and I have been members of the Spirit Health Club for 8 years, previously we were members of  Fitness First, and what we can see that the difference between both clubs are polarised. Spirit is more friendly, people speak and the staff here go out of their way to talk to us. We now experience a friendly environment, not pushy, we do what we want to do, and if we need guidance or help on any piece of equipment, we only have to ask. The staff as mentioned above, are friendly and work well as a team a good example of this was the recent Christmas party, when we arrive at the club, we are greeted with a warm smile and a cheerful upbeat individual who is ready to engage with us. Communication between the Club and the members is key and with the monthly newsletter upcoming events are mentioned, also emails are issued if there are  activities cancelled or unplanned maintenance events that need to be carried out. We feel that this is not just a gym club, its more of a social meeting experience. Keep up the good work it's appreciated." Nigel & Lynda Wynne
