Member of the Month
The first of our latest lucky members to win member of the month is Deb Maddock. Deb has been nominated several times throughout the year for her determination and dedication to get fit. In June she was also one of the first to complete 77 miles within 77 days for the Great Heart Challenge. Deb always gives 100% in the gym and attends regularly and I’m sure many of you will agree that she is a deserved winner. In July, the award went to Ian Moore. Ian is a very friendly guy to have around the club and has a great attitude to exercise. He has recently had an operation on his knee and was straight back to it and is making brilliant progress. A massive well done to both Deb and Ian, not forgetting all who were nominated. Remember, you can nominate someone for member of the month by writing their name and the reason you think they should win and putting in the box by the wall display.

Commando Challenge
Dave, Jess and Lou have found a very different way of spending a Sunday afternoon!! On 10th October, all 3 will be taking part in the 10k Royal Marine Commando Challenge! They have all madly agreed to complete the course which consists of a 3 km multi terrain run to a 4 km obstacle course then another 3 km run back to the starting point. The obstacles include steep terrain, mud, water, more mud, tunnels, even more mud and of course the infamous ‘sheep dip’! Needless to say, this is all for a good cause. Money raised by the event will be donated to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and The C Group who aim to ‘support the on-going rehabilitation and re-integration of injured and wounded Royal Marines, whether this is within the Corps or in a new direction in a civilian career’. Please look out for the sponsorship form at reception. All donations big or small will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Paul’s Little East Anglian Adventure

In April Joan Ramsey won this award as despite recently having a serious operation, she has shown great commitment in getting back to her usual self and attending often to speed up her recovery. Jennie Richards was the lucky winner in May due to training incredibly hard in the run up to her triathlon. All the hard work paid off as she completed it in 1 hour and 7 seconds!! A big well done to both Joan and Jennie and to all those who were nominated. If you think someone deserves to be member of the month then please place your nominations in the box by the display.

To make our ways of communicating with members more efficient, quicker and energy saving, we will be sending out both text messages and emails about new promotions, social events, renewal offers and general information about the club to keep you all up to date.
